Privacy Policy – StationCheck Irrigation

StationCheck Irrigation ("StationCheck", "the app") helps irrigation professionals record sprinkler system walkthrough inspections and create reports for their customers. This policy explains what the app stores and how it is used. It applies to the Android app and the web app at stationcheck-demo.pages.dev.
1. Using the app without an account
You can use StationCheck without creating an account. In that case everything you enter stays only on your device (in the app's local browser storage). Nothing is sent to us.
2. Information stored on your device
- Walkthrough / job data you enter: customer name, service address, customer phone and email, inspection date, technician name and license number, weather notes, controller, zone and station details, repair notes, concerns, and finished/signed-off status.
- Photos you add to stations or reports (compressed and stored inside the job).
- Valve locations (optional): only when you tap the button to save a valve location, the app asks your device for its current GPS position and saves it with that valve. The app does not track your location in the background.
- Company profile: your business name, phone, email, irrigator name, license number and logo, used on reports.
- App settings: language choice, an optional 4-digit PIN (stored only as a one-way hash), and backup/sync timestamps.
3. Optional cloud backup and sync (account)
If you choose to create an account with "Cloud backup", we store on our servers (Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure):
- Your email address (your account login).
- Your password, only as a salted hash (PBKDF2-SHA-256). We never store or see your actual password.
- Your walkthrough/job data, including photos and any saved valve locations, and your company profile, so they can be backed up and synced to your other devices.
- Sign-in session tokens (stored as hashes, expire after 180 days) and a temporary failed-sign-in counter (expires after 15 minutes) to protect your account.
Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process standard technical information such as IP addresses in its network logs to deliver and protect the service.
4. What we do NOT do
- No advertising and no ad trackers.
- No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except our hosting provider (Cloudflare) to run the service, or if required by law.
- We do not access your contacts, camera roll, or location except as described above when you choose to add a photo or save a valve location.
5. How we use the information
Only to provide the app's features: saving your walkthroughs, generating reports, and backing up/syncing your data between your devices. Reports you create are only shared when you choose to share or download them.
6. Data retention and deletion
- On your device: you can delete any job in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes local data.
- Cloud account: your cloud data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account and all cloud data at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Cloud backup → Delete account (enter your password), or
- On the web: stationcheck-demo.pages.dev/delete-account, or
- By email: send a request from your account email to mikessprinklersystems@gmail.com with the subject "StationCheck account deletion request". We will delete your account within 30 days.
Deleting your account permanently erases your login, password hash, all synced jobs and photos, your company profile and sync records from our servers. Cloudflare system logs and backups, if any, expire on Cloudflare's normal schedule.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption in transit, salted password hashing, hashed session tokens and sign-in rate limiting. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
StationCheck is a business tool for irrigation professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Your customers' information
If you enter information about your own customers, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect it. We only store it to provide the app to you.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version on this page.
